What we do

The Budleigh Salterton Probus Club is here to provide camaraderie between like-minded retired professional and businessmen in Budleigh and the surrounding area.

Typically the meetings consist of morning tea/coffee, followed by a talk by an invited speaker, on a topic of interest to the members. After the talk, the bar is open and people can remain as long as they want. On four occasions in the year we stop for lunch together.

Outside of the regular meetings, we get together for lunches including our wives/partners, maybe once a month. We have been going to the East Devon Golf Club, but this year we are going to try the Redwing at Lympstone. On a couple of occasions in the year we dress up a little bit for a lunch at a hotel. For the past two years we have gone to the Victoria Hotel at Sidmouth.

Here we are enjoying an afternoon at East Devon Golf Club.

For all this take a look at our Outings/Functions and Past Activities pages.

You are very welcome to come along to our meetings as a guest with no commitment, if you would like to sample the atmosphere of our get-togethers.

Please contact us via “Membership” or the email address below and we will get back to you if you want to know anything more, or feel like you would just like to come along to a meeting.

We meet
on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at the clubhouse of Budleigh Salterton Football club in Greenway Lane. From 10am Tea, coffee & biscuits are available before the meeting starts at 10.45. The bar is open at the end of the meeting, about 12 noon.

Probus clubs can be found throughout the country and in fact, the world. The idea grew out of The Rotary Organisation where a wish to establish something appropriate for retired members arose. Today there is no link to Rotary and all Probus clubs are independent of one another, pursuing their own agenda of activities.

The National Organisation can be found here: https://www.probusonline.org
